Gallery RepresentationLIZ-BETH FINE ART GALLERYThis gallery is simply the best gallery in Knoxville owned and operated by a dynamic family with lots of irons in the fire. Liz Gobrecht runs the show along with her son Bart and daughter Beth and a great staff. No feat is impossible at LizBeth and the mettle of the group has been proven time and time again when crunch time arrives and huge deadlines loom. I have been with this gallery from the ground up. I helped finish the sheetrock and painting before opening day! That was years ago. Now it is a big operation with much going on. Bart is even developing a revolutionary new engine in his non-existent free time. You just never know what might be happening behind the scenes but it is sure to be busy. They have a huge supply of beautiful frame moldings and always make my pastels look their best.

The name kind of says it all. Robert Miller's gallery is in a house on a quiet street not far from the bustling main drag of Blacksburg, home of Virginia Tech University. Robert is a man with great taste. Each of his small group of artists has a unique style and Robert has blended the paintings into an intimate setting. He is an expert on African masks and has all sorts of fascinating African art tucked around the gallery. I haven't been at the gallery long but when I came in the door I knew it was a place I would love to show my work. There is just a special feeling in Robert's gallery that makes it well worth traveling off Main Street into a path less traveled.

This place is brand new in an old section of our little city that is getting lots of attention and stirring up excitement. Patti Lawrence is the owner and if her energy and enthusiasm can be passed along to the gallery, the gallery is sure to be successful. I like being in on a new venture. I feel artists are way too passive in their gallery relationships. Artists often have special skills that can be a great help to a gallery. I want to get involved as it greatly improves my chances as well, if the gallery does well! Patti and I have set up two good pastel workshops already. In a new gallery the challenge is to let people know it is there! This can be harder than it seems. Broad Street is an area just oozing with charm and I think people will find out about The Gallery and its energetic owner.
